ANCRUM'S Jordan Nuttall scored five times to send Forsyth Cup holders Kelso Thistle crashing out of the competition.

Nuttall notched the quintet of goals in a 6-2 win at Bridgend, with Chris Brown adding the sixth to knock out Thistle.

Duncan Kemp scored two as Gala Hotspur saw off Division C side Melrose 4-1 at the Public Park, while Tweeddale Rovers also avoided a shock with a 3-0 victory at St Boswells, as Moray Macleod, and Mikey and Tiff Robertson found the net.

Blaine Gillie notched a hat-trick as Selkirk Victoria hammered Hawick Legion Rovers 7-0, while Daniel Pattenden also scored three in Chirnside’s demolition of Kelso Amateurs and Earlston Rhymers defeated Tweeddale Rovers Colts 4-1.

In Division A, Hawick Waverley came from behind to beat Greenlaw and take a major step towards retaining their league title.

Conor Devaney put Greenlaw ahead but a second half double from Taylor Hope and goals from Jamie Richardson and Ryan Clapperton secured a 4-2 win to move level at the top of Division A, with two games in hand.

Their cause was aided by a shock win for strugglers Stow, who triumphed 5-2 over joint league leaders Hawick United.

James Runciman and Jordan Steele scored two each to give the Villagers a fine win and give Kenny Donaldson’s side some hope of survival.

In Division B, Hawick Legion ended a horror run of six defeats in a row by beating Coldstream Amateurs 2-1, as Scott Duncan and Charlie Mitchell scored.

Tweedmouth Amateurs took advantage of Langlee’ clash with Newtown being called off with a 4-0 win over Lauder to go six points clear at the top.

And Kyle Kivlichan scored two for Leithen Rovers as they shocked promotion contenders Duns.

The only game in Division C saw Gala Fairydean Rovers player/manager Welsh Curran roll back the years to score a stunning goal to help his side fight back to win 4-2 over Highfields United.
