SCOTLAND’S first major mountain bike enduro race of the season was staged at Glentress at the weekend, with 550 riders descending on the Tweed Valley’s bike trails from all over the UK.
The race was the first in the TweedLove Triple Crown enduro series – which last year was the most popular MTB enduro race series in the UK.
The overall win was taken by Peebles local Ben Balfour after a tight battle between the men, delivering in style on the promise he’d shown as a junior, and despite coming back from a year out with injury.
The women’s race was won by ex-world champion Tracy Moseley on a tough course which took in some classic steep Glentress test-pieces.
Results:
Tracy Moseley (Master) – 18:32:53
Jess Stone (Senior) – 19:41:62

Ben Balfour (Under 21 Category) – 16:09:05 (fastest overall on the day)
Gary Forrest (Masters) – 16:14:45
Sam Flockhart (Senior) – 16:26:58
