THIS weekend's horse-racing meeting in Selkirk has been cancelled because of the weather.
Selkirk Flapping Association was due to host six races at the Rig tomorrow afternoon.
And a post-race party was also planned in the racecourse marquee.
But heavy rain has already caused safety concerns on the course and with further rain expected in the next 24 hours a decision to cancel was made this morning.
A spokesman said: "It is with regret that this morning, as a result of the horrific weather today, and forecast over the weekend, that we as a committee have taken the decision on safety grounds for both horses, and the general public, to cancel the race meeting tomorrow."
