PEEBLES High School pupil Ellie O'Hara continued to rewrite the record books at the weekend by claiming a further two titles at the Scottish Athletics Championships.

The 16-year-old won the Under 17s triple jump competition at Grangemouth with a best distance of 12.27 metres.

And she followed up her success the following day by going beyond six metres for the first time to win the Under 17s long jump.

West Linton teacher Stacey Downie returned to the top of the podium for the first time in eight years as she claimed the senior 400 metres with a time of 55.46 seconds..

The 32-year-old also won bronze in the final of the 200 metres behind Roisin Harrison.

Following a lengthy lay-off through injury, Galashiels athlete Adam Leighton claimed silver in the Under 17s High Jump with a best height of 1.77 metres.

And there was also a silver for Chirnside's Tammie-Louise Hunter with a distance of 34.64 metres.
