DES Sutherland’s incredible scoring form sent Langlee Amateurs top of Division A.

Sutherland bagged four goals in his club’s 5-0 win over Jed Legion at Netherdale, to give him 26 goals already this season.

And since the club was formed in 2017, the former Gala Fairydean and Selkirk striker has netted an astonishing 160 goals for Langlee.

Liam Wallace added a fifth for Langlee, his eighth of the season, while Steve King saved a Jed Legion penalty.

With the rest of the Division A card called off due to the wet weather, Langlee are now three points clear at the top of the table.

Jordan Nuttall bagged a hat-trick for Ancrum in their emphatic 8-1 win over Coldstream Amateurs in Division B.

An Ancrum spokesman said: “It was a commanding performance but Coldstream deserve credit for their never say die attitude.”

Melrose fought back from 3-1 down to beat St Boswells and go top of Division C.

It looked like Melrose had blown their chances when they trailed at half time but a double from Ashley Langford saw Steven Shields’ men win 5-3.

Highfields United made their four hour round trip to Canonbie worthwhile as they defeated CFC Bowholm 7-3, with Callum Lee scoring two.

In the Waddell Cup, Gala Fairydean Rovers set up a second round tie with Hawick Waverley after defeating Kelso Amateurs 4-1.

Martin Gibson, Josh Lamb, Declan Bell and Brem Kirk scored for the Netherdale men.

All other games were called off.
