GALA YM travelled to Dalkeith on Saturday with a very much weakened team after several call offs in the morning.

The visitors had to play two front row players at centre and a wing forward at stand off.

The home side had a huge pack and they controlled matters in the very muddy pitch.

Dalkeith played down the slope in the first half and they ran in six tries to lead 38-7 at the break.

YM had several good spells and were running the ball at every opportunity.

And they were rewarded after several phases on the Dalkeith line with Adrian Donoghue plunging over for his fourth try of the season.

Adam Williams added the extras and YM were on the scoreboard.

With the rain getting heavier, the teams turned round and immediately Dalkeith had a player red carded for a no arms tackle.

But the home team never looked like they were a player short as the next 20 minutes saw them run in another three tries.

YM never gave up and following a great burst by Mike O’Donnell, Kevin Andison dived over for his sixth try of the season and YM’s 50th try so far this season.

Dalkeith took their try total to 11 with a further two scores but YM had the last say with Jason Graham crashing over at the death.

It was a match to forget and hopefully the team will be back to full strength before this week's match away to Liberton.

Man of the Match for was Scott Chapman.
