GHA 10

Hawick 24

HAWICK'S recent good form continued in Glasgow on Saturday.

And a bonus-point fourth try in injury time sees them close in on second-placed Currie in a bid for a home play-off slot at the end of the season.

Hawick were on the front foot early with Lewis Ferguson being denied by home cover in the opening minutes.

But the home team edged in front through a penalty from Jamie McKinnon approaching the qurter hour.

The Greens responded well with Matty Carryer the crash over the line.

Both teams were full of running, despite the heavy pitch, and it was Hawick who scored next through Logan Gordon-Wooley.

Robbie McCallum responded for the home team with a well-worked score.

At 10-10 going into the final quarter of the match, GHA began to get on top.

But Hawick's defence stood firm and when the opportunity came in the 70th minute Andrew Mitchell raced away for a try.

Hawick's pack closed out the game with some powerful drives and scrums, and despite being held up twice in the closing seconds, they managed to get over for the fourth try.
