GALA boss Neil Hastings admits his team face another derby date defeat this weekend unless they can up their game.

The furious manager was talking after his side’s defeat against Vale of Leithen on Saturday.

Hastings believes Gala face an even tougher task when they travel to Shielfield Park to take on Berwick Rangers.

He said: “Berwick have turned a corner under Ian Little and Kevin Haynes and they will be really difficult to beat.

“We were nowhere near our best against Vale and if we play like that again there will only be one outcome.

“I could go on about our injuries but we should still have enough quality to get something from the Vale game.”

Hastings welcomes back former Manchester United and Hibernian player Danny Galbraith.

And it is hoped Lewis Grant will have recovered from flu to be included for the trip to Berwick.

Vale of Leithen manager Chris Anderson hopes his team can stretch their unbeaten run to three when they face Caledonian Braves.

The four points from the last two games have taken Vale off the bottom of the table for the first time this season.

But Anderson wants the momentum to continue on Saturday at Strathclyde Park to overtake other fellow strugglers, Gretna and Dalbeattie.

He said: “We need to build on these performances and take this form forward, starting with the match against Caledonian Braves.

“We should have close to a full squad for the match and we’ll go there confident of getting another result.

“Every point is valuable and we’ll fight for them.”
