The 32-year-old teacher from West Linton clocked 57.63 behind Edinburgh’s Mhari Patience in the final.

Cardrona schoolgirl Ellie O’Hara finished fourth in both the senior triple jump and long jump.

The teenager, who was the youngest in the competition, reached 5.60 metres in the long jump and 11.59 in the triple jump.

Imogen Lewis from Peebles was also fourth in the Under 17s triple jump with a best distance of 11.33 metres.
