KINGSLAND cleaned up at last weekend's Borders Badminton Primary School Championships.
Pupils from the Peebles school not only claimed both the Boys' and Girls' titles, but they also took one of the runners-up spots.
A total of 28 boys and eight girls from all over the Borders descended on Earlston High School last Saturday.
An excellent standard of badminton was on show throughout the early rounds.
But it was the Kingsland's Louis Kirkpatrick and Lyall Cormack from Ednam Primary who deservedly made their way through to the final.
Following some more excellent play it was Louis who emerged as the winner.
The Girls' final was an all-Kingsland affair with Rowena Armitage just getting the better of Florence Kirkpatrick.
The Colin Blaikie Sportsmanship Award was presented to Alex Swann from Kingsland and Maja Szostak from Eyemouth.
Gordon McLean from the organising committee, who earlier presented the trophies, told us: "There was some great badminton on show, with many promising young and new players taking part and a good level of play being displayed, especially so in the finals.
"Well done to all the players for making this such a great competition.
"Thank you to all the parents and junior players who helped score games, and a special thanks to Lynn Rhind and Pearl Ford for their help running the tournament from the technical table and to Audrey Rae who worked tirelessly in the kitchen serving up hot drinks and cakes."
