SELKIRK RFC coach Scott Wight has praised his squad for clocking up more than 1,000 miles in a "phenomenally quick time".
The Philiphaugh side completed a fundraiser for the local foodbank on May 15.
Wight hailed a "great team effort" after players and staff ran, walked and cycled a combined distance of 1,907 kilometres in the week from May 9.
The former Melrose and Glasgow Warriors player said: “All credit goes to the boys, who from day one bought into the challenge and gave it their best shot."
The JustGiving page is being kept open for the next few days, said Wight, in an attempt to add to the £1,917 total raised so far.
However, Selkirk Food Bank has already expressed gratitude for the rugby team's efforts, according to Wight.
He said: “I’ve spoken to Peter Birney, Selkirk Food Bank’s co-ordinator, who’s delighted with what we’ve been doing.
"He told me the money will give everyone involved with their operation a big boost at what is proving a really busy time for them.”
