GALA Fairydean Rovers are back in action tonight when high flying Tranent Juniors visit Netherdale.

And manager Martin Scott is hoping that home advantage will pay dividends.

Tranent currently sit second top of the Lowland League behind Rangers B and should that remain they would be guaranteed a play-off place against the winners of the Highland League and potentially the chance to gain entry into League Two.

Gala go into the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Rangers B at the Dumbarton Stadium on Saturday which ended a fine run of results for the Borders.

Gala manager Martin Scott said: “The elements had a big impact on the game as we were playing into a big wind in the first half but to be fair Rangers adapted well and were clinical.

”I’ve not seen the penalty back, but I wasn’t convinced at the time.

“I thought we responded well going behind and although it was disappointing to lose the game, I have no complaints about the result.

“Our performance and application levels were good, and we played as we have been doing recently. In fact both teams tried to play football the right way.

“I thought we dominated the second half but couldn’t score when we were on top.

“Tranent will be another tough game but there are a lot of tough games in this league. Home advantage will definitely suit us on our big pitch.”
