Tweeddale Rovers Colts 1

GFR AMATEURS recorded an impressive Collie Cup quarter final against Tweeddale Rovers Colts at the 3G Arena on Saturday.

The home side started the match strongly and came out the traps flying and took the lead after five minutes when a corner kick wasn't properly cleared and Andrew Callow slotted home.

Good work from Welsh Curran and Fraser Jackson sent Calum Riddell through and he finished well to put Gala two up after 15 minutes.

A good through ball with the outside of his boot from Murray Bell sent Jason Macintosh clear and he was unlucky with his lob landed on top of the net instead of inside it.

A fine pass from Welsh Curran sent Jason Macintosh clear on the right and he finished with a great chip into far corner of the net.

Andrew Callow raced clear after being sent through by Fraser Jackson and rolled the ball past the Tweeddale keeper to make it 4-0 at the interval.

Gala kept up the pace in the second half and were dominating possession of the ball.

A great one-two sent Corey Malloy clear on the right and he picked out Jackson at the back post Jackson composed himself and stroked the ball into the far corner of the net.

Macintosh added his second and Gala sixth when sent clear from Callow's through ball.

Tweedale never gave up and were rewarded with a consolation goal near the end.

Kieran Crawford scored on his debut with a good strike which was too hot to handle for Tweedale goalie to wrap up the scoring.
