AS part of the Beltane festivities in Peebles, the Crowning Ladies gathered for lunch weekend before last.
Organised by Anne Snoddy, the 2014 Crowning Lady and secretary of Peebles Community Council, a total of 21 attendees dined out at the Tontine Hotel on Saturday.
Tradition states that the Lunch is organised by the Crowning Lady three years after her election, therefore the 2018 lunch will be organised by the 2015 Crowning Lady.
Anne told the Peeblesshire News: “We all had a lovely afternoon at the Tontine, and my thanks go to the staff at the hotel who served a splendid meal.
“At the event, last year’s Crowning Lady Susan Bell presented a commemorative brooch to [this year’s Crowning Lady] Janette Gordon.
“Several of the Crowning Ladies also took part in the Parade along the High Street on Sunday for the Inaugural Service at the Cross Kirk.”
