THE Borders will remain in Level 1 of the Scottish Government’s coronavirus lockdown system.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon made the announcement during her briefing at 2.20pm today (December 15).
The Borders moved into Level 1 at 6pm on Friday (December 11), having previously been in the stricter Level 2.
Elsewhere, East Lothian, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire will all move up from Level 2 into Level 3.
During the briefing, Ms Sturgeon said Scotland's "position remains extremely precarious".
"The road ahead of us may still have dips in it and at times that means the light may well be hard to see," she said.
"The next few weeks may well be one of those dips in the road but, even if it is obscured at times, we must remember that the light is definitely there and we will get through this."
