Forty-year-old Garry Brown pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at a property in Silverbuthall Road, Hawick, on March 15/16.
He admitted acting in an aggressive manner towards a named woman and shouting and swearing at her during an argument and putting his foot in the door preventing her from closing it.
Brown was fined £175 and ordered to pay a £10 Victim Surcharge as well as the two-year non-harassment order.
