THE Borders recorded one coronavirus-related death last week, new data shows.

The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update today October 20, covering the week October 11-17.

In the week prior to October 11 the region had recorded zero deaths where coronavirus was listed on the death certificate.

The total number of deaths in the region stands at 80 this year and 184 since the start of the pandemic.

According to the NRS data, as at October 17 there have been a total of 11,406 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
