THE former home of an award-winning Jedburgh bistro has been earmarked for a new retail outlet.
The town’s 35 High Street housed Stewart’s Bistro until late 2019 when the owners Kerry and Alasdair Stewart re-located their business to nearby Abbey Place.
Now an application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council by Melissa Redpath for the change of use of the category C listed building.
In a report submitted with the application, Miss Redpath says: “The property was most recently used as a cafe/bistro, however, it has been empty for approximately two years.
“I recently purchased the building and wish to turn it into a retail shop.”
