A TWEEDBANK man who admitted obtaining a television by fraud has been admonished at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Daniel Kennedy, 61, of Lowood Park, pleaded guilty to pretending to employees at the Argos store in Galashiels, on February 15 last year that he had paid for a television to be collected.
But the television had been paid for and was due to be collected by his former wife.
Alasdair Fay, prosecuting, explained that when the couple’s relationship ended they had separated their assets but had kept on a shared Argos account.

He explained that Kennedy’s former wife had bought a new television and received a message to uplift it.
But Kennedy also received a message to uplift it.
Mr Fay said that when police officers arrived at Kennedy’s home he admitted the offence and gave back the television so there had been no financial loss.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said: “Given the circumstances I will admonish him.”
