JEDBURGH Callant’s Festival - main day celebrations will take place tomorrow, Friday, July 7 2023.

Start time is 15 minutes earlier than normal at 8.15am with the Callant and cavalcade arriving in Abbey Place at 8.30am.

Then arrival at Ferniehirst Castle for 9.50am.

Local police community officers will be assisting with traffic issues.

There will be several road closures, including the A68, for a substantial period during the morning.

From 8am to 9pm Abbey Place / Rampart Area will be closed.

The alternative routes are: Southbound - east on Canongate and south on the A68 to the point of closure. Northbound - the above in reverse.

From 8am to 1pm the A68 from the B6357 junction to Edinburgh Road will also close

From 10:20am to 12:30pm, the following road closures will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road.D96/3 Hundalee, B6358 Market Place/Canongate, DJ32/3 Old Bridge End, DJ44/3 Waterside Road, DJ35/3 Priors Road

The alternative routes are: Southbound – north on the A68, west on the A698, southeast on the A6088 and north on the A68 to point of closure Northbound – the above in reverse.

There will be no parking allowed from 7am to 12:30pm on the following roads:
