THE Walking Football Scotland Over 60s East Premiership resumed on Wednesday (June 7) at Oriam National Performance Centre in Edinburgh.
Gala Fairydean Rovers started the second round of fixtures with a 2-0 defeat to Stenhousemuir but responded with a 1-0 victory over Tweedvale in the Borders derby thanks to a goal from Hugh Henderson.

The final game of the day ended in a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Alloa Athletic with Gala’s goal coming from Terry Patterson.
Tweedvale also lost 3-0 to Hearts 56 and 1-0 to Hearts 98.
GFR WFC Chairman Gordon Smith said: “Gala Fairydean Rovers Walking Football Club took part in the second round of fixtures in the East League Premiership tournament on Wednesday.

“Results were a bit mixed but we were up against the leading teams. Overall an improvement as we won one of our three matches and moved up the league.”
That leaves Gala in 11th place with four points from six games while Tweedvale are ninth with six points from seven games.
The season resumes on September 13.
