GALA Fairydean Rovers are back in action tonight when Glenrothes visit Netherdale in the second round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

Gala lost to a strong Celtic B team at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie on Saturday but Martin Scott’s men are looking to bounce back against the Fife side tonight.

Glenrothes who currently play in the East of Scotland premier Division are co-managed by John Martin and Kevin Smith.

And they arrive in confident mood after beating Penicuik Athletic 6-0 on Saturday.

Speaking about the Celtic B result Scott said: “Credit to Celtic who were very good in and out of possession but I thought we weren’t as good as we could have been out of possession.

“I thought we were a bit disjointed, but we continued to try and implement our philosophy.

“And it was pleasing that our effort and application was never in question, nor was our work ethic, but technically we were just a bit short.

“Although it was a mixed bag performance it is always beneficial for our players to play against the full-time teams.

“But on reflection we didn’t deserve anything from the game and were beaten by a far superior team.”

Scott is delaying a decision on the fitness of Jack Beaumont who was injured in the recent game against Hearts B.
