GALA Fairydean Rovers are in Scottish Cup action on Saturday and the club are hoping to take a big crowd through to the game in Glasgow.

The supporters bus which is due to leave Netherdale at 11am has now sold out.

Martin Scott’s men face a difficult away tie against Pollok at Newlandsfield Park.

Pollok are currently in third place in the West of Scotland Premiership on 18-points from nine games, five points behind leaders Clydebank but with two games in hand.

They are currently managed by experienced manager Stewart Maxwell who was appointed in November 2022 following the departure of Murdo MacKinnon.

Maxwell has been in management for 10-years and has previously been in charge of Cambuslang Rangers, Johnstone Burgh, Cumbernauld United, Linlithgow Rose, Bathgate Thistle, Rob Roy, Kilwinning Rangers and Petershill.

The majority of the Pollok squad have played league football at one time or another.

Most notably midfielder Kyle Hutton spent five years at Rangers, playing 54 times and scoring twice for the Ibrox club, winning a League Cup medal after coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 victory over Celtic.

Former Hearts and Hibs player Fraser Mullen is also a regular starter.

Up front former Stranraer striker who started his career at Aberdeen has been in top form and recently scored his 100th goal for Pollok. This season he has scored 17-goals from 15 games.
