A GALASHIELS complex needs charity is set to benefit from a night of new bands at the Mac Arts Centre.

Cornerstone, which operates a day centre on Melrose Road for people with complex needs, is being supported by three of the best up-and-coming bands from the Borders and Edinburgh.

The trio of talented groups performing on Saturday, November 14 are The Zenith Complex, Empire Declined and The Boy With The Lion Head.

Hawick-based The Boy With The Lion Head are already earning a loyal following with their warm low-fi folk releases.

Rob Wood, Ali Clarkson, John Findlay, David Reid and Angus Hamilton will no doubt charm the Galashiels audience with a selection of their own material and a few sublime covers.

The Zenith Complex, who hail from the bright lights of the capital, cite Japanese rock music amongst their influences.

And the showmanship and excitement of their first few singles easily transforms to the stage. It is easy to see why they have a growing fanbase around the world.

Making up the the charity evening trio is the energetic and totally enjoyable Empire Declined.

Tickets, priced at £5, are currently available from Music Station in Galashiels.

All profits from the evening go to Cornerstone.
