WILD frontman Kyle Falconer has checked out of rehab in Thailand and booked into a gig in Galashiels.

The View singer from Dundee hit the headlines earlier this year after being admitted to a 56-day rehab programme in Chiang Mai.

The 29-year-old, who has headlined many major festival stages, including a record eight years in a row at T in the Park, as well as enjoying sell-out tours with The View, entered the clinic following a drunken, in-flight incident which forced an aeroplane to divert its course.

Falconer admitted at the time he was struggling with a drink problem.

During his spell in Thailand he took some time away from focusing on himself to teach a group of local orphans from Im Jai House how to play ukulele.

Having completed the rehab, he has now returned to Scotland and teamed up with his bandmates.

The View have just completed a series of gigs to mark the tenth anniversary of debut album Hats Off to the Buskers, which reached number one was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Amongst the dates was a show at the Barrowlands, which sold out within 20 minutes.

The View have released five highly acclaimed albums - Hats Off to the Buskers, Which Bitch?, Bread and Circuses, Cheeky for a Reason, Ropewalk and the 2013 compilation, Seven Year Setlist.

Falconer is also embarking on a mini solo tour of Scotland.

And he will pull into Galashiels on Saturday, October 29.

Promoter Mike Ward told us: "Kyle is back and fresh from his visit to rehab in Thailand where he was working teaching music to young children as part of his therapy.

"He is back and feeling refreshed after playing a sold out return show at The Barrowlands with The View to celebrate 10 years since the release of Hats off to the Buskers.

"This is set to be a great solo tour and we are glad that we are stopping off in Galashiels."

Garry Greig, who was recently on the X Factor boot camp, local singer Craig Jeffrey, and Ayrshire band Brownbear will provide the support at the Indigo Rooms.
