ONE of the country's 'most beloved underground bands' are tuning up ahead of a gig in Galashiels.
The surreal-psych duo, The Lovely Eggs, will play the MacArts centre later this month.
Northern England's very own, and much more entertaining, version of the White Stripes have already produced four sensational albums.
Their latest release, This is Our Nowhere, received 8/10 from the NME.
And the Lancaster duo continue to receive massive support from DJs across the board at BBC6 Music as well as enjoying sell out tours of the UK.
A spokesman for the MacArts told us: "With observational and often surreal lyrics about life, The Lovely Eggs have a powerful, stripped-down sound - one vintage guitar amp, One Big Muff distortion pedal, a guitar and drum kit.
"They have a fierce ethos that music should have no rules.
"For Holly and David, being in a band is a way of life.
"True to this , they live the way they play - fiercely, constantly, in search of the good times."
The Lovely Eggs songs have been produced by Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), remixed by Tinder Singh (Cornershop) and sampled by Zane Lowe for Scrubius Pip.
With releases in the UK, Europe, USA and Japan, the duo have a loyal underground following across the globe.
The Lovely Eggs play the MacArts on Saturday, August 19 with support from Spat.
Tickets, priced at £10, are available from the box office on 01896 756852.
Doors open at 7pm.
