A BUS worker who stole a customer's brand new jacket which had been left behind has been fined £200 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Glenn Morris, from Jessamine Cottages, Earlston, took the jacket to Marks and Spencers and received a £49.50 credit note.
The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing the jacket during the course of his employment at the First Bus Depot in Duke Street, Galashiels, on June 5.
The court heard that the First Bus Group had reimbursed the customer with the cost of the jacket.
Morris, who left his job as a bus shunter as a result of the offence, was ordered to pay £50 compensation to First Bus Group as well as the £200 fine.
