LOCAL MP Calum Kerr has praised the “inspirational” work of the Borders based brain injury charity Heads Together, after celebrating the arrival of their brand new bespoke minibus.
The bus this week was delivered to the charity's headquarters in Hawick after a successful fundraising campaign to raise £37,000.
Speaking at a celebration to “cut the ribbon” on the new bus, Mr Kerr, who also acts as Patron of Heads Together, told us: "It was a delight to join with volunteers and service users at Heads Together to celebrate this great step forward.”
"After successfully setting up their new, bigger, premises in Hawick it’s important that they have managed to build on that success with the bus. As a group that’s all about keeping people active, this is a really important asset that will transform the charity’s work.
"I’ve seen this charity grow from the ground up into an inspirational example of our Borders spirit of community self-help.
"As Patron of Heads Together, I’d like to thank the many people who have put their time and money into this effort and to Steve Turnbull for his tireless work as Chairman.”
