BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Galashiels woman who admitted a charge of wilful fire-raising.
Kirsty Lawrence, of Galabank Street, pleaded guilty to setting fire to paper in the stairwell of a property in Jura Drive, Tweedbank, causing damage to the flooring and paintwork.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said:"Any case of wilful fire-raising is a serious matter. "I will call for reports to see if there is an alternative to a period of imprisonment."
The 33-year-old will be sentenced at Selkirk Sheriff Court on April 11.
