A GALASHIELS man has been remanded in custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court after being accused of assaulting his former partner at a local superstore.
Forty three year old William McLaughlin of Thistle Street, appeared from custody charged with seizing hold of the woman by the body at Tesco in Galashiels yesterday (Wednesday).
He also pleaded not guilty to a second charge of threatening or abusive behaviour by threatening her with violence.
A trial date was set for July 20 .
The Crown opposed bail and McLaughlin was remanded in custody.
