POLICE officers sealed off the village of Ettrickbridge last night during an incident.
Several police vehicles, including a riot van, ambulances and a fire crew raced to the village following reports of a house being smashed up.
It is understood that following a stand-off a man was takento Borders General Hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told us: "We were called to an address in Ettrickbridge, near Selkirk on Thursday following a report of concern for a person within.
"Specialist and local emergency resources were deployed in the area to maintain public and officer safety.
“A 39-year-old man is currently in hospital for assessment.
“Local residents are thanked for their patience whilst officers dealt with the incident."
