HAVE you ever dreamt of representing your town in the biggest week on Galashiels’ calendar?

Well here is your chance to apply to take on the coveted role of Braw Lad or Braw Lass for the 2018 celebrations.

The Braw Lads’ Gathering started in 1930 to celebrate the town’s rich history and culture and attracts thousands each year.

It is a chance to represent the town you love and take part in the famous traditions, such as leading the way in the Scott Street gallop and the ceremonial ride to Torwoodlee.

Locals can now apply to follow in the footsteps of this year’s lucky pair, Greg Robertson and Amy Thomson.

Speaking of his experiences in the summer Greg told us: “I wish it wasn’t over. I wanted it to last forever. But these things have to finish and I have got my great memories to keep hold of now. It’s gone way beyond my expectations.”

It is set top be an exciting 2018 for the Braw Lads’ Gathering, with two new faces ready to lead the festivities.

As we recently reported, former local councillor Bill White has taken over as President, while Galashiels hairdresser Jodie Millar has been appointed Chairman.

If you would like to join the celebrations and become Braw Lad or Braw Lass, please print out and fill in the attached form and send it to the address provided.

Good luck!
