A GALASHIELS man has been remanded in custody after being accused of punching and stamping on his partner.
Twenty two year old Jonathan Barnes - who gave an address in Croft Street - denies assaulting the woman to her injury at a house in Galashiels on Tuesday, August 7.
Bail was refused at Selkirk Sheriff Court and Barnes was locked up until the case next calls for an intermediate trial hearing on August 27.
The trial date has been set for September 13.
