A JEDBURGH man has admitted a stalking offence at the town's sheriff court.
Twenty-seven-year-old Shane Cowan pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which was likely to cause a woman fear and alarm in various streets in Jedburgh between November 5 and May 10.
He repeatedly approached and confronted the woman despite being asked to desist and on an occasion attempted to give her a letter, sing a song to her and give her confectionery.
Cowan, of Castlegate, had sentence deferred until January 15 to allow the resolution of other matters alleged against him.
He is currently remanded in custody on a petition mater.
