A JEDBURGH man will be sentenced in the new year for eight drugs offences.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kieran Borthwick pleaded guilty to six counts of possession of a class B drug as well as possessing class A drugs and class C drugs.
Sentence had previously been deferred for the production of background reports but Borthwick failed to attend a meeting with a social worker as it clashed with a medical appointment.
His lawyer Ed Hulme said his client had left three voicemails to try and organise an alternative appointment but these had gone unanswered.
Mr Hulme said he had also left a message with the social work department and had received no answer.
Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred sentence until January 23 to allow the criminal justice social work report and restriction of liberty order assessment to be compiled.
