A VAN has been set on fire in a Borders town, according to police.
The fire service attended the site on St Ninian's Road, Hawick, at around 12.45am on Tuesday (January 23) and quickly extinguished the flames.
Police said that no one was hurt in the incident involving the white Transit van.
Detective Constable Joe Carmichael, of CID, said: “We are appealing for information to help trace the person or persons responsible.
“Anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm on Monday, January 22, and 12.45am on Tuesday, January 23, is asked to contact us.
“We would also like to hear from any motorists with dash-cam footage or residents with private CCTV.
“If you think you can help, contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 099 of January 23, 2024.”
