A 45-YEAR-OLD man drove to Hawick Police Station when he was told officers wanted to speak to him about breaching his bail conditions.

But Ricky Lee, of Wellfield Road, Hawick, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol on January 6.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told that when Lee was asked to provide a specimen of breath he refused.

Lee pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath and was fined £400 and banned from driving for three years.

He was fined £120 for breaching his bail conditions with a £40 victim surcharge added.

On a separate complaint, Lee pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour involving his partner and was fined £160 with a £10 victim surcharge.

Lee was ordered to pay the fines at a rate of £80 a month.
