A HISTORIC Borders bridge has been targeted by vandals again, according to police.

Officers issued a public appeal last week after ornamental lanterns were damaged, a drain cover was removed and an electrical box was vandalised with graffiti at Rennie Bridge, Kelso.

Now two other lanterns have been vandalised in separate incidents, say police.

The first of the latest incidents is believed to have happened between 10pm on Tuesday (February 27) and 9am the following day.

The second is thought to have taken place between 10pm on Saturday (March 2) and 9am on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If anyone has any information which may assist our enquiries, please contact Police Scotland on 101, or using the online contact form, quoting incident number 0849 of 04/03/2024.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The category A-listed bridge runs across the River Tweed.
