TWO-HUNDRED bales of hay have been destroyed in a fire in a Borders barn, according to police.
It is the third "suspicious" fire in Stow this month.
The latest incident took place at around 11.30pm on Monday (March 18), say officers.
Detective Constable Louise Begley of CID said: “This is the third report of a suspicious fire in the area recently where hay bales have been destroyed.
“This fire is being investigated alongside two identical fires in Stow reported to police on Sunday (March 17) and Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
“We are carrying out enquiries in the village and reviewing CCTV to find the person or people responsible.
“I would ask local residents to check their private CCTV and motorists to check dashcam footage to see if you have captured anything that could assist our investigations.
“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0030 of Tuesday, March 19, 2024.”
