A 25-YEAR-OLD man was rescued from a flat in the Borders after a fire broke out.
Emergency services were called to the property on Abbey Road, Coldstream, at 1.15am on Friday.
Two fire crews from Kelso and one from Coldstream rushed to the scene, using breathing apparatus and a high pressure hose reel to fight the blaze.
An ambulance was called and the man was treated for smoke inhalation, but did not need to be taken to hospital.
Elsewhere, firefighters were called to the grounds of a primary school, where a pile of wood was on fire.
A crew from Galashiels was sent to St Boswells Primary School on Sprouston Road, at 4pm on Friday. There were no casualties or damage to the school building.
In Galashiels, crews attended two kitchen fires on Sunday.
Just before 6am a man was led to safety outside his home on Carlin Court, Tweedbank, but did not need medical attention.
And just after 12.30pm, a crew from Galashiels and one from Selkirk put out a small fire on a cooker at a property on Woodstock Avenue, Galashiels.
Also on Sunday, firefighters dealt with a large field fire beside the A688 road near Kirkston Farm in Bonchester Bridge. A crew from Hawick was called just after midnight and attended the scene, where an area of approximately 25x25 metres of gorse bushes was alight.
