Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf & Spa has received an early Christmas present with the announced that it is to receive an investment of over £200,000 to upgrade 23 executive bedrooms within the 4-star, 99 bedroom hotel in the Borders.

With work to start in the New Year, all of the bedrooms to be refurbished to executive standard with new furniture, beds, carpets and TV’s, offer guests views over the golf course towards the River Tweed. One of the ground floor bedrooms will also feature an outdoor patio area for the exclusive use of guests to enjoy a drink or al fresco dining. Should this concept prove popular, patios may be added to a further seven ground floor bedrooms.

The hotel’s facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, a luxury spa and the AA rosette Renwick Restaurant.

Stuart Maxwell, General Manager, Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf & Spa, said: “Our plans to upgrade 23 bedrooms to executive standard will further enhance the guest experience at our hotel which already offers excellent leisure and business facilities. As the only 4-star full-service hotel in the Borders we are also pleased that our growing reputation for serving only the highest quality of food is reflected by at least a 30% increase in bookings for the coming festive season.”
