COMMONWEALTH Games athlete Samantha Kinghorn switched on the Christmas lights in Earlston this year.
The track star, from Gordon, was the mystery guest at the launch of this year’s display, which is regarded as the best Christmas lights in the Borders.
And crowds of well-wishers turned out to show their support, despite the wintry weather.
Highlights on the night included a torchlit procession and a visit from Santa.
