GRAND National winning jockey Ryan Mania will be unveiled as an attendant at Selkirk Common Riding later this month.
The former Braw Lad's appointment - which is sure to come as a surprise to supporters of the Braw Lads' Gathering in Galashiels - is believed to be the reason behind his decision to retire from racing.
He qualifies for the position following his move from Clovenfords to Lindean three years ago.
