The event was organised on their behalf by members of the local Walk It group - and it turned out to be a roaring success. Almost £1000 was raised towards the maintenance programme.

Paths Group secretary Ian Gibb said: “The support we receive from within the local community is staggering.

“Many of the people attending the coffee morning are no longer able to use the footpath network we maintain but obviously feel that we have made a significant contribution to the local area and generously support our work. “We cannot heap enough praise on the event organisers, their supporters and all those who donated raffle prizes and home baking for the cake stall. “The coffee morning raised the impressive sum of £927.05 and as we are a not for profit voluntary organisation it will all be used to support our continuing paths maintenance programme.”
