IT may be the smallest school in Galashiels, but its pupils have BIG ambitions.

Budding stars of the Apprentice in primary one, two and three at St Margaret's have just concluded their month of business building.

And their money making venture proved to be a real Christmas cracker.

The children not only designed and made tree decorations but they marketed and sold their festive products to staff, family members and guests at this week's school concert.

The Christmas Creators project has been hailed a huge success with more than £200 being raised.

A spokeswoman for St Margaret's told us: "The children have worked very hard on their topic of building a business.

"They had already raised over £100 from the sale of their decorations before the school Christmas concert, where they sold just as many again."

The pupils of St Margaret's Primary would like to thank local company Craft It.

The spokeswoman added: "The pupils went to Craft It on Bank Street to get advice and also accept a donation of craft materials."
