THOUSANDS of well-wishers turned out to celebrate the history of Galashiels during the town's annual gala this week.

Crowds are pictured at a special ceremony at the Old Town Cross.

Braw Lad Ryan Mania and Braw Lass Nicola Mackay led the festivities this year.

It culminated with a ceremonial ride around the town which concluded with the dipping of the Burgh Flag at the war memorial on Saturday.

For full coverage of the Braw Lads' Gathering pick up a copy of next week's Border Telegraph - in shops from Wednesday, July 4.
