IN October, two Galashiels Academy girls were key members of the Heart of Midlothian Under 15 Girls team who won the East of Scotland League.
Laura Davies, S4, and Jo Laidlaw, S3, were fixtures in the team throughout a season that saw them triumph over local rivals Hibs. Laura plays in defence and Jo on the right wing.
To have two of our girls among the 11 playing in such a competitive team reflects great credit on the girls themselves, and on Fred Blackie, who coached them before Hearts.
