THE Borders Railway will be one of the main talking points at the next Eildon Area Forum on Thursday 19 February.
Residents who live in the Galashiels & District, Leaderdale & Melrose, and Selkirkshire wards are being encouraged to come along to the event at 6.30pm in the Burgh Chambers in Galashiels.
An update on the railway will be provided by contractors BAM Nutall just days after the final piece of track is laid. Meanwhile, staff from Scottish Borders Council will talk about the economic impact on the region of the new transport link.
Presentations will also take place on Borders Sport and Leisure Trust and Scottish Borders Pilot Regional Land Use Strategy Framework.
Councillor Bill White, Chair of the Eildon Area Forum said: “There are some interesting items on the agenda, none more so than the Borders Railway. We want local people to hear about, and have their say, on things that directly affect them and their communities. This meeting is an opportunity to do just that.”
