NURSERIES in Galashiels held their annual sports day at St Margaret’s Primary School in the town last week.
Young and old alike had great fun competing (but not too seriously) in glorious sunshine.
Courage the Cat made an appearance too, and gratefully received a cheque for £109 on behalf of Cash for Kids.
“It was free for the children to take part, we just asked for a £1 from every child, which was to go towards Cash for Kids,” explained organiser Carol Fox.
A myriad of obstacle courses, throwing competition, a wheelbarrow race and that old favourite, the egg and spoon race were just some of the challenges this year’s entrants had to contend with.
Langlee Nursery, Glendinning, Burgh, St Peter’s, Limelight nursery and Osito all took part in this year’s event, and the consensus was all would like to return next year.
“The children had a great day, and the feedback I received from the parents was very positive too,” added Carol.
