Camping for Christmas in Oxton
CAMPING could soon be on the Christmas menu in rural Oxton.
The Camping and Caravan Club has applied to increase the season of their Lauderdale site as part of a major upgrade.
The national organisation wants to convert part of the two hectare site just outside Oxton into 12 hard-standing pitches.
They also want to create a new children's playpark, extend internal roads within the site and build a new service area.
Lauder Camping and Caravan, which has 60 pitches for tents and trailers, is currently open from March to November each year.
But under the new proposals it will extend its opening for 46 weeks of the year - from February 16 through top January 5.
A full planning application for the changes has been submitted with Scottish Borders Council.
